Well, duh, of course it's deep. It's you!
The question is, does pretending make it less painful? Is there anything that could possibly satisfy us more? But how do we get there? Perhaps pretending is another type of painkiller. If we spend enough time pretending, we eventually convince ourselves that it's reality.
